Windows Mobile Issue

There was an issue with Microsoft Windows XP SP3 that some users may have encountered recently when installing or running BarStock V1.0 on Windows XP.
Consequently V1.1 has been released to fix this urgent issue.

However some of our tests are showing that there are issues with Synchronising between Windows Mobile devices and so if you are a Pro user (i.e. you use a Windows Mobile handheld device for data collection) we recommend you continue to use V1.0 until a fix for this issue has been found.

If you are a Windows Vista user and require Windows Mobile please install and use BarStock V1.0.

If you are running Windows XP SP3 and require Windows Mobile please:

Run BarStock to test the installation was successful.
Once successfully installed you can then install XP SP3 afterwards by temporarily disabling SQL Server as follows:

  1. Go to Program Files/Microsoft SQL Server 2005/Configuration Tools/
  2. Start SQL Server Configuration Manager
  3. Click on SQL Server Services
  4. Click on the SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) service
  5. Right click and select Stop

You can then install XP SP3 and restart.

If you have any other issues installing XP SP3, Microsoft suggest that you disable any Anti-Virus software and see KB949377 for more information.

We apologise for any inconvenience and as always, please contact us if you encounter any other issues.
